QOAT, billed as the first professional haircolor topcoat, lands in every SalonCentric sales channel on June 1, 2026 — and it is asking salons to add one more step, and one more revenue opportunity, to every color service.

Co-founded by Alfredo Lewis and Aditi Sharma, QOAT positions itself as an entirely new category in professional color care: a final, sealing step applied at the back bar in just five minutes. Its HydraGlow Shield™ technology forms a lightweight, hydrophobic layer intended to lock in color, boost shine and shield against environmental stressors.

For salon owners, the pitch is straightforward. Clients already pay premium prices for color; a topcoat that extends vibrancy gives stylists a tangible upsell at the end of the service and a practical answer to the most common color complaint — fade. The product is developed exclusively for professional, in-salon use, which means it won't sit on retail shelves next to drugstore alternatives.

Lewis serves as Founder and CEO. He brings more than 30 years behind the chair, senior leadership experience at Matrix, and a social following exceeding 4 million that generated over 1 billion views in 2025. That reach matters for adoption: a brand led by an educator with a built-in stylist audience can shortcut the usual awareness grind for a new category.

"QOAT is a love letter from hairstylists to our clients. I kept seeing the same issue behind the chair, color not lasting the way it should — and no real final step to protect the service — there was a clear gap in the industry," said Lewis. "That led to the idea of a topcoat for hair, a simple step that helps seal and extend color while fitting seamlessly into the way stylists already work."

The formula took two years to develop with chemists and was refined alongside a collective of leading hairstylists. Those stylists are not just testers — they are shareholders. QOAT launches with a stylist-driven ownership model that makes influential hairdressers equity partners in the brand, an approach the company frames as a new template for building professional beauty companies grounded in behind-the-chair expertise.

Sharma, Co-Founder and COO, carries nearly two decades in brand building and global go-to-market execution, including leadership roles at L'Oréal and founding EGAD Talent, where she launched and scaled beauty brands worldwide. Her commercial background shapes QOAT's distribution strategy: exclusive availability through SalonCentric, SalonCentric Franchise and State RDA stores, via SalonCentric or State RDA salon consultants, or online at SalonCentric.com.

"Clients are investing more than ever in their color, and expectations for longevity and performance have fundamentally changed," said Sharma. "QOAT is designed to elevate the service itself, giving stylists a seamless way to protect their work while delivering a more premium, longer-lasting result for clients."

SalonCentric, the L'Oréal-owned distributor, is backing the launch with full-channel support. "Stylists and salon owners are looking to preserve the integrity of their professional work and salon clients are looking to protect their professional hair color, maximizing the longevity and vibrancy of their investment," said Vanessa Dusold, VP of Partner Brands for SalonCentric. "This innovative product achieves all of this and is now available to stylist and salon customers who want to provide an in-salon service that ensures long-lasting color and peace of mind."

The strategic logic for salons: a five-minute application slots into existing service flow without adding significant chair time, while the "protect the investment" framing gives front desks a natural conversation starter for both the add-on itself and client retention between visits.

Watch whether QOAT's stylist-shareholder model and its June 1, 2026 SalonCentric debut translate into genuine back-bar adoption — the first sales data and pricing details through salon consultants will be the category's first real test.
